Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
For the past two years, I have worked as a lead preschool teacher. This position has included assisting with potty training, writing curriculum and lesson plans, patience, compassion, and knowledge of positive activities for physical, social, and emotional development of children. With this job, I obtained 120 hours of professional training (CDA) focused on the development of young children and how to help learn and grow!
For three years, I also ran the children's art class and birthday party program at a Michaels. Most of my shifts were spent with anywhere from 20-40 children, working to ensure that all of them felt comfortable to come up and ask for help.
I also worked at art camps at Writers and Books in Rochester NY where we taught and brought to life the stories and art children create.
Throughout my time living in Rochester New York, I nannied for a family of three children (ages 3, 7, and 9). My care for them spanned over the course of 5 years, both part time and full time.

My experience with special needs children...
I worked with a family of three over many years, throughout two summers full time. The youngest daughter has Down Syndrome, and I was with her to assist in physical, vocal, and occupational therapy, as well as just through daily activities when she needed assistance. I currently am working with students that have autism and ADHD. I am committed to assuring every child receives the care they need fully while also ensuring they still experience their independence and respect every person deserves.
