A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Keyla Gudiel, an 18-year-old who has always had a deep love for children. For as long as I can remember, working with kids has been a natural part of my life. Whether it’s babysitting, volunteering, or helping out family members, I’ve gained years of hands-on experience in childcare. I find great joy in being a positive role model and creating a safe, nurturing environment for children to grow and thrive.

I’m now looking for the perfect family to care for, where I can bring my energy, creativity, and dedication to support your children’s development and well-being. I truly believe that every child is unique and deserves a personalized approach to learning, play, and emotional support. Whether it's helping with homework, planning fun activities, or simply being there when they need someone, I’m ready to make a meaningful difference in their lives.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience working with children in various roles. As an Afterschool Program Director and Summer Camp Leader at Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation [phone number hidden]), I designed activities, supervised staff, and ensured children's safety and well-being. I also planned outdoor activities, field trips, and events while addressing behavioral challenges and maintaining safety standards. Additionally, I have been babysitting since 2022, organizing fun activities, preparing meals, and communicating with parents. I volunteered as a Summer Camp Leader at Mannahouse Kids Camp [phone number hidden]), overseeing children and leading team-building activities. I also taught preschool children Bible stories as a Sunday School teacher at Mannahouse Church [phone number hidden]). These experiences have helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish, making me adaptable and effective in diverse environments.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing activities with kids that promote creativity, learning, and physical activity. Some favorites include outdoor games like tag and scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, baking simple treats, and reading stories together. I also love playing board games, dancing to music, or making up fun science experiments. Nature walks, gardening, and playing sports like soccer or basketball are great ways to get kids moving. Additionally, I enjoy imaginative play, like building forts or acting out different roles, which encourages creativity and teamwork. These activities keep kids engaged, active, and help them learn new skills in a fun way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building trust and taking responsibility for the children’s care. This involves respecting the parents' decisions on how they want their children raised, including their values, routines, and expectations. As a nanny, it’s essential to create a safe, nurturing environment that aligns with the parents' wishes while ensuring the children's well-being. Trust and responsibility go hand in hand, as parents need to feel confident that their children are in good hands, and that their care is tailored to their values and goals for their child's upbringing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments happened when I took the kids I care for on a nature walk to a nearby park. We were walking through the woods, and I noticed they were starting to get tired and a little restless. To turn things around, I decided to make it a treasure hunt. I gave them a list of things to find—like a red leaf, a smooth rock, or a bird's feather—and suddenly, their energy shifted. They became excited and focused, running around and eagerly checking off each item on the list. The joy on their faces when they found something they were looking for was priceless. We ended the walk by sitting on a bench, sharing the little treasures they had found, and talking about how nature is full of surprises. It was a simple moment, but it felt magical watching them experience the world in such an engaging way.
