A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Lucy and I have 5 years of child care experience. I began working as a Swim Instructor for my local YMCA. My 5 years as a caring and successful swim instructor led to me being promoted to Advanced Swim Instructor at my second YMCA. I have experience with baby classes where we sing and expose babies to the water with help from parents. I have experience with preschool lessons with kids ages 3-6 where we learn to be safe while enjoying our time in the water. I have experience with school-aged kids where we learn the strokes while gaining endurance.

I was also a Youth Swim Coach where I worked closely with a group of 11-12 year olds. I enjoyed fostering appropriate relationships with my swimmers while coaching them in the sport.

I am looking to get out of the pool and gain experience in nannying. I have reliable transportation, weekend-only availability, and would love to chat!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

when I worked as a swim instructor for local YMCAs! I was responsible for not only making sure the kids had fun, but also their safety and wellbeing in a potentially dangerous environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Swimming, of course. Crafts, walking, spending time outdoors (my favorite). Reading, watching movies, cooking.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is being there for the children. Being someone who will do their activities with them, be a kid with them. But also being responsible and clearly communicating boundaries and rules.
