The Buran Family
Alexandria$20/hr  |  2 kids
My husband and I are working professionals, and he travels for work about 1-2 weeks a month. We both take the train to work, so we are looking for someone who is able to come to our home in Alexandria.

We have a 1yr daughter, Morgan, and are expecting our second child this July. Thus, we are looking for someone to start September/October when I go back to work.

Morgan is a very outgoing, happy child. She loves to laugh, dance, and meeting new people. On walks, she is constantly waving at everyone that we pass. Her favorite artists are Aretha Franklin and Ariana Grande. Morgan is close to walking but confidently climbs stairs and is constantly on the move.

Flexibility is very important to us, especially when Brian is on travel. Typical schedule will be normal working hours (8-5), but we are flexible with this. Also, a plus would be someone who could work until 6:30 on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays so that we may attend a yoga class at our gym. Our nanny should be able to climb a flight of stairs and also be comfortable with dogs (we have a small very friendly dog).

Our family leads an active lifestyle. Brian and I run long distance races; we love to go hiking/camping; and can often be found in out in VA winecountry. We also travel both domestically as well as internationally.

We also have a second home in Hilton Head, SC that is walking distance to the beach. Although not a requirement, a plus would be someone who is able to, on occasion, travel with us there in a work/vacation capacity.

Nanny Needed For 1 Baby In Alexandria
This is a full-time nanny position (45-50 hours per week - 7:30am-5:00pm M-F and the occasional weekend evening) in our home for our baby girl. Some light tidying up after the baby and light laundry would be part of our caregiver's responsibilities.
I'll be returning to work mid-January. I would like for someone to start the first week of January, before I go back, or perhaps even a couple of days a week later this fall to get to know her and our preferences so that when my return date comes it's a more seamless transition.
Please reach out if you're available and interested as well as your hourly rate and other pertinent info or questions you might have for me. If everything aligns for both of us, I'll reach out to set up an interview.
We hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you. Tina

North Ridge, Alexandria$17/hr  |  1 kid
We are seeking a nanny share starting in either December or January for our two children (Shirlington/ Del Ray/ Bel Aire Alexandria area). Ideally, we would like to host as our 2.5 year old son will go to a pre-school near our house three days a week. I am due with our second child in October and feel the best nanny share would be with a family that either has a newborn or a 2.5-3 year old. That way the nanny is only handling two age groups rather than three! If you are seeking a nanny share with another infant or toddler, please let us know! I also have a home office and can step in when the nanny gets overwhelmed or life just gets a bit crazy. Both my husband and I have very flexible work schedules. Thanks!

We are seeking an energetic, caring, attentive and organized nanny starting this December for our then four month old daughter at our home in Del Ray, Alexandria. Once we are established with a nanny, we would like to invite another family to create a nanny share (so eventually 2 infants total under the selected nanny’s care). Our daughter is extremely curious, playful, active, healthy, happy and alert! The position is Mon-Thurs, approximately 7:30am-5:30pm, beginning 12/2 (start date flexible). Responsibilities include routine care, engaging in age appropriate activities, assisting in meeting milestones, monitoring for any irregularities pertaining to our daughter’s health, well-being and development, taking her on outings (she loves outdoor stroller time!), and light housekeeping. The ideal candidate is warm, loving, patient and passionate about working with children. We are looking for someone who can give our daughter focused attention and affection, enjoys caring for infants (lots of cuddling!), spending time outside and being active. Montessori style child care is preferred, Spanish speaking is a plus!

- Certification in infant and child first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Understanding of infant development and developmental milestones
- Prior experience in childcare settings (daycare center, nursery, babysitting, nanny)
- Excellent understanding of child development in different age stages
- Ability to come up with creative ideas to educate and engage children
