A little bit about me

Hello! I have just moved to Chesapeake from Texas! Back in Texas I was watching for a very loving family, Officer Holsley and his wife, I watched their two lovely boys 3 and 5 years old. This is my only real experience as a nanny but I have been around children my entire life, was always asked to watch the kiddos. I have 3 younger cousins, blood relatives, who I’ve watched over time, but also 12 other younger cousins by adoption. I love to help out the best I can, whether that be cleaning up or setting food out! And I personally would say I am amazingly organized. Though not the most experienced in the kitchen. Bigger and healthier meals, I may need some instructions! I do have some medical issues going on including alopecia, that being said I do not currently have hair. It is growing though! Would like to note that the moment I realize that first hair falls, I shave it all. I have personally seen what hair can do to an infant’s toes/hands and will not take any chances with loose hair!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love outdoors but it’s not quite as warm here as Texas! I enjoy taking kids to the playground and genuinely playing on the set with them! Love splash parks, and sprinklers, anything water based. Can play catch and tag! I enjoy making obstacle courses with chalk! And walking kidos through so, last time I was Racing a 5 year old for about an hour, he indeed had a blast tho. So worth the sore! Anything outdoors is amazing, can take toys out, play with toy cars, can even have dinosaur fights! Indoors I like to keep it down just a notch, more calmer games like hide n go seek. I also enjoy making forts for them to play in, as a child making forts used to be my favorite thing to do. Always brought comfort and beautiful memories. I enjoy making movie nights, getting a few snacks and picking the best movies, forts usually come with so! Also enjoy reading books, teaching numbers/ letters, and helping out with writing. I try to make learning fun!

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important thing about being a nanny was getting to know the boys, being there for them. I absolutely loved their parents, and I was there for them as well to help them out as much as I could, but what was more important to me was those kid’s happiness. And their comfort. Their youngest, he was very sensitive at first when mom left, completely understandable, but me building trust and love with him helped that tremendously, at first he’d cry every time ma had to go, but we made a strong connection and soon enough he was perfectly fine with ma having to go, instead of getting upset that mas leaving he’d get excited that Kayla was there to play!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment would’ve had to of been when I took the boys to the parade on Main Street. In my hometown, we constantly have parades. This one was the Christmas parade. Meaning there was a huge Christmas tree, we had bouncy houses, a Santa walking around as well as a grinch on one of the floats. Them throwing candy out to us and me getting to get the boys some hot cocoa from my aunts shop! The boys excitement and joy is what made that night. Getting to see those smiles light up! And all the elderly around to watch, just so heart warming. We took tons of pictures under the tree and they had a blast in the bouncy houses. Then the oldest had us chasing down the grinch due to the grinch taking my Christmas tree earlier that day.. (I borrowed my aunts grinch costume and stole my own tree to get a video) he had just watched the grinch at school, I had to make it real. Christmas has to be one of my favorite holidays so me getting to celebrate it with them a bit was quite beautiful.
