A moment that sticks out to me is when I worked closely with a child I was nannying for as he bravely prepared for his first experience at a 6 week long sleep away summer camp. We spent the weeks leading up making packing lists, predicting what his roommates would be like, and processing the big emotions that arise during big change (with a lot of reminders that it's temporary!). Two weeks later after he left for camp, the family got a letter in the mail from him with a shout out section addressed to me with a brief description of each roommate.
