I was an AuPair in Italy for 3 months (8 m/o baby, 3 y/o girl) and I volunteered multiple times in orphanages and schools with kids in need in Mexico.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Setting playdates, drawing/painting, doing cafts, playing outdoors, taking them to the park, helping with homework and setting activities age appropriate. Sometimes it’s better to just let them take the lead and play along with them and getting in their own little world!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I care about them feeling safe and loved. I want them to see me as a friend and someone they can talk to and rely on. I want to know about their day and how are they feeling. Not every day is a good day and I want them to know that they’re cared for and loved even on those rough days.
I also want to make sure that their needs are always being attended correctly. I’m gonna make sure to be a role model and treat them always with respect and appreciation.
