The most important part about being a nanny...
At 13, I babysat twin girls I had cared for since I was 10. I was close with their family and often joined them for events and vacations. When the five-year-old girls, who were child actors, needed to memorize a script for a self-tape, I offered to help. Instead of having them repeat their lines, I made it a game: I pulled a funny face behind the camera to cue each line. After a few practices, they remembered the script, and we filmed an adorable self-tape. I'm proud I made a challenging task fun. It showed me how patience, humor, and creativity can help children learn.
