I worked through the YMCA doing Y care at an elementary school. I also worked at the branch where I did child watch. I also always used to babysit my cousin's children before I moved.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When I worked at the YMCA, I loved playing games with them, Reading books, Doing homework with them and playing Just dance with them.
My experience with special needs children...
There was a young girl in 3rd grade who had down syndrome and was non-verbal that I cared for while working at the elementary school. I would always be the one she'd feel comfortable with, and really was the one who could calm her down besides her mom. She was so sweet, she enjoyed drawing and coloring so most of the time that's what we'd do together, We also always played connect 4. Honestly her favorite thing to do was dance to kids bop so every morning she would come in with her tablet she would tell me to play music and that's exactly what we would do every morning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When my coworker and I threw the kids a party and we did spas, makeup and painted nails for the girls and we did video games, just dance, and tattoos for the boys. It was so fun everybody had a great time.
