More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive childcare experience with children of all ages, spanning a 7 year period.

I also worked as a swim instructor for several years, teaching large group sessions and private 1 on 1 lessons for ages 0–15.

I have also worked as a camp counselor, a Spanish teacher for Kindergarteners, and a tutor and academic counselor assisting with daily homework assignments.

I first became CPR & First Aid certified 7 years ago, and have maintained my certifications on and off since then. I am currently certified in both CPR and First-Aid training.

Most recently, I worked at an immigrant family services nonprofit, where part of my role was supporting families and caring for infants and children on a daily basis. I also assisted the organization's Youth Empowerment department during my time there.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creating a balance of fun, creativity, learning, and active play. As a lifelong musician, I enjoy incorporating music, singing, and dance into everyday activities. I also love arts and crafts, reading, storytelling, and creative writing, as well as outdoor adventures, swimming, trips to parks and playgrounds, and imaginative play. I am a former athlete and can participate in as many physical/sporting activities as the children are wanting and are able to engage in.

I also enjoy helping with homework, supporting early literacy and language development, and finding ways for learning to feel fun and exciting. As a former swim instructor, tutor, and teacher, I enjoy helping children build confidence, develop new skills, and discover a love of learning.

Most importantly, I enjoy following each child's unique interests and personality, creating activities that help them feel supported, curious, creative, and excited to explore the world around them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is building a relationship of trust, with both the children and the parents. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for, and parents deserve the peace of mind that comes from knowing their children are in capable and loving hands.

Beyond keeping children safe and cared for, I believe a great nanny helps create a stable, positive environment where children can learn, grow, build confidence, and have fun. Every child is different, so I think it's important to meet them where they are, support their individual needs and interests, and show up each day with patience, consistency, and kindness.

At the end of the day, my goal is for children to feel supported and happy, and for parents to feel that their lives are easier because I'm part of their team.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with a wide range of needs, including children on the autism spectrum and children with Down syndrome. Through my work as a swim instructor, I learned how important it is to balance inclusion with individualized support, helping children participate fully in group activities while thoughtfully adapting instruction to meet their unique needs. I also have experience with medical considerations, medication schedules, food allergies, and other accommodations that require consistency and attention to detail.

I am patient, compassionate, observant, and committed to understanding each child's strengths, challenges, and learning style. I do not shy away from complex mental and physical health needs, and I understand the importance of clear communication, reliability, and emotional support for both children and their families. My goal is always to help children feel safe, confident, included, and empowered to thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite childcare memories was spending a rainy afternoon helping a child write and perform a play starring their favorite stuffed animals. What started as a way to pass the time turned into hours of storytelling, making costumes out of construction paper and old blankets, creating tickets for an audience of family members, and lots of laughter. By the end of the day, they had memorized every line and were so excited to perform their masterpiece.

I love moments like that! When a child's imagination takes over and you get to help bring their ideas to life. Seeing their confidence grow and watching them take pride in something they've created is one of the most rewarding parts of working with children.

This profile is made for my mother, whose technology skills are not the best:

I have cared for children since I, myself, was a child. As I am in my 40’s, this responsibility fell square on my shoulders for over half of my life- the weight comforting.

It is my life’s work to care for children, having a background in nursing from my home country in Mexico. I have recently acquired certifications in NYC for child care, and have extensive history with references to support my work. I have a preference for newborns, as they have an easier time adjusting to having a new caretaker. I am fluent in Spanish and Moderate in English.
