A little bit about me

My name is Presley Brockett and I am graduating college with a Bachelors in Science at the beginning of May. I have worked in childcare in many different settings from babysitting to hospital work, and even tutoring. I am planning on attending medical school in the future but would love to nanny until my admission. I am CPR certified and have worked in the ER as a nursing assistant for a year and a half so I am very used to caring for children in emergency situations as well as taking care of the needs of children of all ages. I would love to be a live in nanny for the upcoming summer and if needed stay throughout the upcoming school year. I have my drivers license and would be able to drive the children school and extracurricular activities if needed. I also love to cook and would be able to cook meals for the children as well as help with homework and housekeeping if needed.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think that the most important part about being a nanny is the devotion to the children in all aspects of life whether that be entertainment as well as development. It is imperative to provide play time for the children but also help them excel in their education. This is done by incorporating reading, board games, and other activities that are fun and help develop cognitive skills. I also think that the communication between the nanny and parents is crucial to a prosperous working relationship. I want to help you make your life easier and being able to effectively communicate regarding the children is important to accomplish that goal.

My experience with special needs children...

I worked as a nursing assistant in the Emergency Department of a hospital. In this setting there were multiple times in which I cared for and watched children with special needs while family members were receiving care. My mother is also a special needs occupational therapist in the school district so I volunteered and helped her in the classroom when it was needed.
