A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Quinn Christian, and I am excited to be relocating from Santa Barbara, California to New York City in January. I am a recent graduate of Westmont College, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

For the past four years, I have worked as a professional nanny, caring for children ranging from infants to school-aged kids. For the last three years, I have had the privilege of working full-time with the same wonderful family, supporting their children’s development through each new stage of growth. This experience has taught me the value of consistency, communication, and creating a home environment built on trust, reliability, and genuine care. I’m seeking full-time or live-in positions where I can build meaningful relationships and support children’s development. I love exploring outdoors, art, and learning about new cultures — and I’m excited to bring my energy, warmth, and experience to a new family in NYC!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my nannying experience, I also worked as a lifeguard, where I taught swim lessons to children of all ages. This role strengthened my ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate clearly with both kids and parents, and create safe, encouraging learning environments. I am CPR certified and trained in emergency response and water safety, skills that have enhanced my attentiveness and confidence when caring for children in all settings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

One of my favorite parts of being a nanny is planning activities that allow children to learn, grow, and express themselves in fun and meaningful ways. I love spending time outdoors — going on walks, exploring parks, playing games, or simply enjoying fresh air and sunshine. I find that time outside helps children build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of wonder about the world.

I also enjoy organizing creative projects such as painting, crafting, and imaginative play. Whether we’re making art, building forts, or inventing stories, I love encouraging children to use their imagination and problem-solving skills. Reading together is another one of my favorite activities; it’s such a wonderful way to build language, spark curiosity, and share quiet moments of connection.

For school-aged children, I enjoy helping with homework, supporting their interests, and finding ways to make learning enjoyable — whether through science experiments, baking projects, or museum visits.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is building a relationship rooted in trust, care, and consistency. Families invite you into one of the most personal parts of their lives, and I believe that responsibility should always be met with empathy, respect, and reliability. For me, being a nanny means more than just supervising children — it’s about truly supporting their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.

Children thrive when they feel seen, heard, and loved. I aim to create a safe environment where they can express themselves, make mistakes, and explore with confidence. It’s also essential to maintain open communication with parents to ensure we’re working together as a team. I take pride in being dependable, patient, and attentive, and I find so much fulfillment in helping children grow into kind, curious, and capable individuals.

I’m a very active person; I like to keep myself busy while I’m in my free time.
Ever since I was a little girl I have done physical activity. I practiced gymnastic, I took dance classes such as ballet, belly dance, jazz and hip hop.
I consider myself a very creative person, with a lot of ideas and common sense, which I think is essential when it comes to childcare. For me it is very important to keep them happy and entertained and the most important safe!.
I am also very sociable and I have plenty of friends, I really find it easy to relate to others. People see in me a person they can rely and trust on, and I am very proud of that!. In others aspects of my life what I can say is that I am a very tidy person and I love everything to be perfect.
During my entire life I have always been related to children, because I have a younger sister, younger cousins and my mother has a lot of friends who have kids. That’s why I can say I am used to spending time with them and I love it.
