I have done volunteer work at my church with children as well as my volunteer work at the daycare.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Singing, dancing, playing, telling stories, I am a really good storyteller, I love to draw and color and if there is chalk then we can go outside and color. I have done baking with the older kids in the past as well as teach them how to cook certain things. Movie nights have always been a big hit.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I really love kids especially since I'm away for college and can't see my little siblings right now. I love getting to bring joy to their faces and helping when they feel sad. Trying to distract the little ones when they realize that mom and dad are gone. Helping the older ones with their homework. I just really enjoy being the big sister to every kid I work with because it's just a part of who I am.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One day I come in and the mom tells both kids are sick. The little one is a picky eater but even moreso when sick. So I start making some chicken noodle soup but they really wanted to help so the older kid helped my make grilled cheese and the younger one got to stir the pot every few minutes. They were so happy to have helped made the meal that they ate everything on their plate. We then made hot chocolate and went down to the movie room to watch Moana for the next 6 hours which at one point they fell asleep on me and I felt so happy then that I got to make a sick day without their mom a little better.
