One of my most memorable moments was with a little boy I’ve cared for occasionally since he was born. He’s now four, and a few weeks ago, he told me he didn’t want me to leave and hugged me for the first time. Expressing his feelings doesn’t always come easily to him, so that moment meant so much to me. It was a sweet reminder of the bond we’ve built over the years.
