A little bit about us

New to Portland family needs a full-time nanny for our 1-year-old daughter M-F 9am-5p with some flexibility depending on nap schedule and our work schedule. We've been lucky enough to have our mothers (Oma and Grammy) help with childcare while we both work from home, but with our move to Portland that is sadly changing. We're still working from home, but no more Grandmother childcare. Meal prep for our daughter and some light housekeeping would be appreciated. Must also be comfortable with pets, we have a 8-year-old rescue dog. We are pretty relaxed parents and feel like fun, exploration, and silliness are the most important activities at her age. I work for a children's toy company so there are lots of toys in our home and with Mt. Tabor Park across the street we just expect lots of fun and exploration.

We need some help to get our busy kids all the places they need to go:
*Monday afternoons: pick up children from school take them home and then to sports practice. (SW/NWPDX)
*Most Wednesdays: pick up children from school and take to sports practice. (SW/NW PDX)
*Thursday: care for child after school in our home (may also occasionally involve a pickup). (SW/NW PDX)
These ~3 hour shifts will also include driving, snack making, occasional dinner prep or light errands in neighborhood, game playing, reading, etc. We have one kid who loves to swim and would love your help getting him to the pool!
One thing to know is our kids do not attend school close to home. To pick them up and bring them home you will be required to navigate the freeway and side roads at high traffic times; the commute back and forth can occasionally take close to an hour. Cool demeanor and driving expertise is a must; we do have a mini van you could use!
*Occasional additional nights and weekends as needed.
*Kids are smart and high energy. Experience and interest in dealing with neurodiversity, will make the job easier for all of us.
