A little bit about us

We’re a small, loving family living in Asheville, settling into a cozy bungalow with our son, Hunter. We both work from home and are looking for a kind, experienced nanny to care for him 2 days/week (Tues/Thurs), with the potential to pick up additional hours.

Our home is calm, creative, and inspired by a gentle, Montessori approach to parenting. We’re less about strict routines and more about presence - giving our son the space to explore, ask, notice, and grow without rushing toward outcomes. We believe the quality of attention matters most.

We also have one affectionate Australian Shepherd, so comfort around dogs is a must.

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience with toddlers (18+ months)
• 2 full days/week (9AM–5PM), with potential for additional hours Mon/Wed afternoons
• Comfortable with dogs
• Gentle, grounded, and reliable caregiver
• Help with light household tasks (dishes, laundry, tidying up)

What We Offer:
• Competitive hourly rate, paid weekly or bi-weekly
• Guaranteed hours
• Paid holidays
• A thoughtful, respectful home where your presence and care are valued

Extra Points If You:
• Have CPR certification
• Speak a second language
• Are familiar with Montessori or gentle/respectful parenting
• Find joy in simply being with a child as they discover the world

If you’re someone who values presence over pressure, and connection over control, we’d love to meet you.

Be well,
Ryan, Kari, and Hunter Hoover

A little bit about us

Hello,
We are Leo (6), Miles (4), Leila and Drew. We have been in Asheville for 17 years and operate a few independent restaurants in town. The Admiral, The Bull and Beggar, Leo's House of Thirst and Baby Bull. We often get overwhelmed with the juggle of running the small business's and being present with our boys. We have a longstanding relationship with a nanny on Thursdays but would be seeking help a few other days a week. Ideally from pickup to bedtime, and sometimes with just one of the boys so we can have some independent time with the other. Looking forward to hearing from you!

A little bit about us

We're searching for a kind and reliable individual to become an important part of our daily life, primarily for Ryleigh, our daughter.

Your main role would be picking her up from daycare and spending time with her at our apartment until 6:30 PM.
Your journey each day starts from your home, and we'll compensate you for the travel time beginning at 4 PM.

We are currently residing in Asheville for a short period (3 months), as Gabrielle is working at the VA Medical Center. Aaron, on most days, will take care of Ryleigh's morning routine and drop her off at daycare. However, there will be occasions when Aaron is out of town, and during these times, we would need your assistance starting at 6:45 AM. On these days, your responsibilities would include both the morning drop-off and the evening routine until Gabrielle returns home. We would do our absolute best to give you advanced notice.

To sum it up:

Regular hours: Pickup at daycare by 4 PM and care until 6:30 PM on weekdays, with travel time compensated.

On days Aaron is away: Start at 6:45 AM for daycare drop-off, then the usual pickup and care until 6:30 PM.

We value clear communication and reliability, and we look forward to welcoming you into our family’s routine for the duration of our stay in Asheville.

A little bit about us

We are looking for someone to provide childcare to our 3 year old son (potty-trained, 1 nap/day) and our 6 year old son who will need assistance with remote Kindergarten learning as well. Basic duties also include kid meal prep and childcare related cleaning, limiting screen time and keeping kids engaged. We have no pets.

We hope for someone who can provide care in our home (with no other children) and that is practicing COVID-19 safety precautions (social distancing, mask wearing, nobln-smoking, immunized?, etc). Must have own own reliable transportation, be punctual, flexible and dependable. (Ex: inclement weather). Must be ok with camera surveillance.

We both work full time in healthcare but I am teleworking full-time currently.
We live in East Asheville/ Riceville area.

We would need a minimum of about 22 hrs/week. Every Monday 10am-4pm and Tuesday/Friday 8am-4pm alternating the next week with Wednesday/Thursday 8am-4pm.
We may be able to provide more hours if needed, particularly if my husband picks up more healthcare shifts.
We would like to stay within $12-15/ hour but can be flexible depending on additional duties, experience, hours, etc.
If this is something you are interested in, please contact me via email ([email hidden]) with your name, date of birth (for background check), experience, rates and any questions you may have!

A little bit about us

My little one will be 12 weeks when I go back to work September 28. I am a nurse down in Hendersonville so I would need care from 6 AM to 5:30 PM on Thursdays and Fridays. He does not need to be picked up or dropped off but we would prefer care in our home. I would be open to a drop-off scenario if we found the right person. We do have two dogs that would need to be let out periodically throughout the day but that is the only care they would need.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to make sure your expectations are aligned with the family.

There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Asheville. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions , it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

  • What do you think children like best about you?

  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?
