Our child is neurodivergent and communicates through gestures, sounds, and emerging AAC tools. We’re looking for someone with experience supporting children with developmental delays, sensory needs, or autism, who can create a nurturing, safe, and joy-filled environment.
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience with nonverbal or limited-verbal children.
Be familiar with AAC systems such as PECS, sign language, or Proloquo2Go.
Be calm, observant, and responsive to sensory preferences (proprioceptive, vestibular, and oral input).
Use play-based learning, creative exploration, and co-regulation techniques to support communication and emotional development.
Be trauma-informed and respectful of a child's boundaries and unique pacing.
Communicate clearly with parents and collaborate with therapists or specialists as needed.
Duties include:
Engaging in sensory-rich play and calm, structured routines.
Supporting expressive communication and emotional regulation through daily activities.
Providing attentive supervision at home.
Light meal prep/snack support with attention to sensory preferences.
Documenting daily highlights and observations in a family-shared log.
We value warmth, integrity, and someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with children.
CPR/First Aid certification is required. Background check and references will be requested.
We are offering competitive pay based on experience and are open part-time candidates who are available Thursdays and Fridays from 1:15 pm - 5:15 pm.
