Do you love working with young kids and want flexible childcare work? We're seeking a reliable part-time nanny for occasional care on an as-needed basis.
Schedule:
1–2 times per week, or about 3 times a month, depending on our family's needs. Hours vary and may include afternoons, evenings, and the occasional weekend mid-morning shift. We greatly appreciate flexibility with scheduling.
Responsibilities:
Providing attentive, engaged care during afternoon and evening hours
Helping with homework or reading practice as he transitions into kindergarten
Engaging in educational activities, imaginative play, and age-appropriate games
Preparing meals and snacks
Light tidying and keeping play spaces organized
Supporting a calm wind-down or quiet time when needed
Taking him on walks and outdoor adventures (park visits, bike rides, etc.)
Creating a fun, safe, and stimulating environment
About our child:
He's currently in preschool and will be starting kindergarten this fall he's curious, energetic, and loves hands-on play.
What we're looking for:
A dependable, nurturing caregiver who can build a genuine connection with our son and create a warm, safe environment for him. We value patience, creativity, positive energy, and someone who can keep up with an active 5-year-old!

* Must be ok with strong-willed, precocious personalities.
* Experience with infant strongly preferred.
* The 5-year-old is homeschooled, so would be home during your entire shift. You would not be responsible for school work.
* The position includes light housekeeping (kids' play areas, kids' dishes, and kids' laundry).
* We are walkable to multiple green spaces and playgrounds, as well as the Shirlington Library.
* Must be able to provide documentation to legally work in the US, & be willing to have federal and state taxes withheld.
* Perfect role for a student! We have made each of our nannies a part of our family, and have been so sad when they have moved on with their careers post-graduation!
