Decatur$10/hr  |  1 kid

Looking for a nanny to care for our daughter (born April 2019) starting in October when I go back to work. I'll be working from home most of the time so am somewhat flexible, but generally will need ~9am - 6pm with overtime needed 4 days a month when I need to travel for work (these days will look more like 7am-7pm). Only responsibility will be keeping baby healthy & happy. We do have a dog and cat (both very friendly and social) so must be comfortable with pets. A little about us: we moved to Atlanta from Brooklyn last year for my husbands job at Emory. I kept my job in Brooklyn, so I work remotely 3 weeks a month and travel to the office 1 week a month. We are both in our early 30s and are open minded and laid back.

We are planning a move to Decatur, GA (so I wouldn’t need any help for a couple months- just starting to look). I will be working part time from home and looking for a nanny to come to my house to watch my daughter while I’m working. Interested in a nanny share or allowing the nanny to bring her own kids to our house for some socialization for my little girl and to help with the cost.

Likely 9am - 1pm
The Waghorn Family

I am looking for a part time nanny that could watch my boy once he gets here. It would be 2-3 days a week. It would be dependent on my husbands work schedule, but we’re working toward a set schedule. I work from home so I will be here, but my job does not allow for me to have much down time. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Decatur, GA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Decatur, GA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Decatur, GA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
