Part-Time Nanny Position for Infant Care in Decatur

We are a warm, professional family seeking a nurturing and experienced nanny to provide part-time care for our baby, Noa.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, part-time care for our baby, focusing on feeding, gross and fine motor activities, and other developmentally appropriate tasks.

Follow a structured yet adaptable routine for naps, playtime, and activities, including outdoor walks.

Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment for Noa.

Handle light housekeeping tasks, such as baby laundry, tidying toys, and preparing/cleaning bottles.

Document daily activities to maintain open communication about Noa’s progress, needs, and health.

About Us

Alex, a professor working in downtown Atlanta, plans to spend a few days a week fully in the office. Yui, my wife, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner currently taking time off but planning to ease back into part-time work during 2025. She will typically be at home but would like dedicated time during the week to focus on her own chores, hobbies, and rest. We do not have pets, and the primary language spoken in our home is English. We’re also a creative family, and as a small bonus, the nanny would have access to our garage pottery studio during off-hours, if that’s of interest.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience with a focus on infant care.

CPR certification and up-to-date first aid training (required).

Fully vaccinated, including Tdap, flu, and COVID-19 vaccinations.

Strong references from previous families.

Non-smoker.

Reliable personal transportation (a car is required as public transit near us isn’t ideal).

Fluent in English.

Benefits

Competitive salary based on experience ($22–$32/hour for approximately 20 hours per week).

Flexible scheduling options.

Potential reimbursement for professional development, such as renewing CPR or first aid certification.

What is an Infant Nanny in Decatur, GA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Decatur, GA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
