A little bit about us

North Asheville family looking for a part-time nanny 2-3 days/week (ie 10-15 hours) to care for a newborn, 3-month-old baby girl. Dad has a demanding full-time, work-from-home job and spends his days working from his dedicated home office within the house; mom is currently on maternity leave and plans to accomplish household chores/projects uninterrupted, occasionally run errands, attend weekly appointments and selfcare endeavors between hire date and end of maternity leave in mid January.

Expectations:
--Engaging, age- and developmentally appropriate play during wake times, change diapers, attentive to baby’s needs and communication, put down for naps/monitor during naps to ensure safe sleep, soothe, etc.

--Potentially feed baby bottle with breastmilk if mom will be away from home during a feeding time (must be experienced in preparing and managing bottles, plus paced bottle feeding method).

-Put away baby toys, restock diaper and changing areas, baby’s laundry and light housework when naps permit/when mom is feeding baby (typically once per shift).

Single family home, two-story (must be OK with stairs as baby’s nursery is on second floor), diaper changing station on both levels, friendly indoor cat that could be kept in finished basement during childcare hours if preferred by nanny. Minimalist decor, clean, tidy, near large parks with plenty to do inside and outside home without car.

A little bit about us

We're looking to join or begin a nanny share during the work week.
We have a 7month old girl who will need care from 10am-4pm Mondays - Thursdays (this timing is moderately flexible). We live in Montford and are happy to work out where the nanny share takes place, either at someone else's house, ours, or a mix.
If you are also looking for child care during the work week or are a nanny who could provide care, please let us know!
Warmly,
Lauren

A little bit about us

I have a beautiful son, Gray, who is 7 weeks old. I need someone to care for Gray at my apartment when I return to work. I work 4 days a week around 9 hours a day. The job duties would include feeding, changing, baths, playtime, and walks. I would love for whoever is watching Gray to have experience with infants, help with developmental milestones, be caring and compassionate with him, and keep him safe and content while I’m at work. I have everything he needs in the apartment.

A little bit about us

We need an immediate sitter for our sweet, spunky 17 month old Luna Rose. I have a pending job offer that I desperately need to take but there is a 3 hour gap between mine and her father’s schedule that we would need a sitter for in our home. We need someone who is attentive, will play with and have fun with her, feed her a meal and/or snack and possibly put her down for a nap. It would be Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week from 2:30pm to 6:30pm. Hoping to fill this as soon as possible! Please message me if you’re interested 😊

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Asheville, NC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Asheville, NC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Asheville, NC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
