A little bit about us

We are looking for a nanny for our 1-year-old in the Bethany/Rock Creek area. I was a nanny in the past and know how important it is to find the right fit for everyone involved. We are looking for someone who is relaxed, comfortable with babies, willing to help with baby laundry and dishes, and who enjoys babies. We have a 4-year-old lab/collie mix and one of us works from home, so it is important you would feel comfortable with those aspects of this opportunity.

Our daughter is loads of fun. She is pretty content, she is curious, she loves moving, is currently very into pointing, and she is just starting to say words. We would love to find someone she has fun with and who enjoys spending time with her.

Please feel free to reach out with questions!

A little bit about us

Full time nanny position available starting April 1st (or earlier) for a mixed race family in SE Portland (Woodstock). There are two children in the family with the nanny’s primary focus on a three month old. The other child is a four and a half year-old who goes to preschool currently from 8am to 3pm. The nanny’s schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm with the opportunity to add occasional additional hours if the nanny is interested. The nanny will be in charge of planning daily activities (potentially including school drop off and pick up), maintaining a consistent schedule, and helping encourage development through play for an infant and a toddler who thrives on routine. The family is looking for someone who is able to be playful and active with the children both indoors and outdoors, regardless of the season. The nanny will also be responsible for light household and child-specific duties including putting toys away, loading/unloading dishwasher, laundry and meal prep, assembling basic child toys/equipment when necessary, and researching best practices for young children. The family has a loving labrador retriever, so the nanny must be comfortable with dogs. With both parents working from home in their respective offices, the parents will respect the nanny’s authority while working. The ideal nanny has a background in child development or education, has strong communication skills, is organized, energetic, flexible and up to date on vaccinations. The family seeks to hire a nanny who will become an integral part of the family.

A little bit about us

Hi ,
We are parents to an 8.5 months old boy located in NW Portland (Bethany) near Springville school and looking for a Nanny share and Nanny! We can even join an existing Nanny share if it is a right fit, ideally looking for M-F 8:30/9 a.m – 4:30 /5p.m.

Both the parents WFH, Mom would come to nurse the baby in intervals! Mainly looking for long term commitment for 12 months.

We are open to sharing the host responsibilities, it is a pet free and smoke free home. We have a fenced yard for the kids to play.

Would prefer the other child in a similar age group (6-12 months) with being COVID-conscious, we decided against daycare ! We have been extremely vigilant from the start of Covid and have limited meeting friends outside the bubble. Our boy is energetic and spends his entire time crawling around the house with 2 naps in daytime.

We would like the Nanny to take care of the kiddo and tidy up things after the kids have food or picking up toys. No other household duties required. Planning to pay our Nanny legally and ideally looking for $21 combined for nanny share.

Thanks for considering and please let me know if any questions!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Portland, OR

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Portland, OR

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Portland, OR? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
