I am looking for a part time in-home nanny/babysitter for our 5 month old son. The hours are every Wednesday 8am-5:30pm and the 1st Friday of every month from 8am-12:30pm. This is just a child care position, no in home responsibilities. Must be okay with dogs but no pet care would be necessary. Looking for someone who loves babies and is willing to play and entertain during wake windows. Experience with infant care, CPR certified preferred.

A little bit about us

I’m exploring my options to find the best sitter for my kiddos. My current work schedule will be fairly wacky throughout the different seasons. I’m looking for the ideal candidate who will be willing to do it in my home until I feel comfortable enough that it can happen in the sitters home. My kids safety will always be priority and I will ensure that happens, so please don’t take offense to that in any kind of way. I have two daughters a 2 year old and a 2 month old currently. I’m looking to go back to work in October but being short staffed on Vet techs, my work is asking for me to possibly return earlier then expected. My toddler is very easy going and still takes at least 1 nap a day usually towards noon/afternoon. I got super blessed with my infant as well. She’ll do tummy time for 15 minutes in the morning and other learning milestones for her age. Hours would be 7 am to 6pm. Monday through Thursdays currently and possibly some Fridays. My toddler will be starting dance soon as well, so depending on the time I may need you take her. I also have 1 dog as well.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Hanover, PA

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Hanover, PA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Hanover, PA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
