A little bit about us

My family is looking for a part-time, short-term nanny in South Austin that has experience with infants 3m+ to watch our sweet baby boy (will be 3m at the time). Starting around mid-September (start date TBD) through mid to late February for about 15-20 hours per week. My husband and I both work from home, so the days/times are flexible, but it will likely be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and sometimes Thursdays from about 9:30 am - 4 pm. We are offering $20-$25 per hour (depending on experience).

Looking for:
* CPR Certified
* Reliable Transportation
* References
* Non-smoker
* Vaccinated
* Must be okay with dogs and cats. We have 2 dogs and 1 cat.
* Duties: developmental playtime/activities, walks, feedings, diaper changes, some bottle cleaning

A little bit about us

We are expecting our second child this July and are looking for a nanny to start full time in January. We will follow AISD calendar for paid days off after a trial period. We prefer a Montessori/Reggio Emilia approach and practice gentle parenting, we understand that some days our baby will need extra cuddles to fall asleep and that’s ok. Bilingual is a big plus and we are comfortable with someone who’s primary language is not English (it’s great for baby’s development!) Both mom and dad work from home and we also have a three year old that will not require. We need someone Monday through Friday 8:30-3:30. Light cleaning would be appreciated (picking up baby toys and activities). Must have reliable transportation and pass a background check.

Looking for a nanny for our 10 mo baby girl Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm starting as soon as possible. Responsibilities include: feedings, diaper changes, nap time, reading books, and play time. We do have a wonderful dog at home, but he doesn’t require any work from you but also won’t complain if you want to pet, play, or rake him on a walk with our little one.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Austin, TX

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Austin, TX

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Austin, TX? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
