Ty just turned 2 and is very easy for the most part. He sleeps pretty much right on schedule. He loves goofing and playing with trucks and trains. We are working on helping cleaning up and using words to ask for what we want. He is very exploratory, which is a major reason seeking a local nanny. He loves to run around the deck and can't be outside by himself. It would be nice to visit local parks if the weather is nice.

Our younger son is an active and engaged baby who loves play and attention. Expectations would be providing enrichment (play), diaper changes, tummy time, following sleep cues for naps, and bottle feeding (I may occasionally nurse him during working hours). Any light housework would be related to his care, such as washing bottles used during working hours, baby laundry, and toy cleanup as time permits. Once we start introducing solids some feeding will be part of care as well. This position would not require driving him anywhere.
We would like someone up to 5 days a week, flexible hours during the work day (ideally 5 hours beginning around 8:30am). Start date asap.
We are looking for the right individual who enjoys working with children and is up to date on all recommended adult vaccines (including flu, TDAP, MMR, COVID). Preferred qualifications include someone with CPR certification, reliable transportation, and some level of experience/education in early childhood development.
This would be a perfect position for someone in school or with small children in school because we are flexible with hours needed (we would like some consistency in schedule once established though). We are hoping to find someone that we can have a long term working relationship with and plan to do a casual fit interview with canidates interested at a local coffee shop or our home to make sure this is a good fit for both you and us (remote interview accepted).
If interested please message just a few sentences about your interest, experience/qualifications and desired schedule/availability. Feel free to ask any questions too as you are interviewing us as well ☺️!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Tacoma, WA
If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.
What is an Infant Nanny in Tacoma, WA
An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.
Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this age group?
- Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Tacoma, WA? Are you willing to be trained?
- How do you handle a crying baby?
- How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
- What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
- How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
- What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?
You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
