A little bit about us

Hello there!

I am interested in learning about nanny shares in my area. I currently have a three year old girl. She is a very spunky, funny, and high-energy kid, so you need to be up for keeping up with her! :-) We are looking into starting her at preschool during spring of this year or fall of next year, so she may need to be dropped off/picked up there. We don't have her registered for anything just yet so I'm not sure exact times or location. I am also expecting our second child (a boy) at the end of March 2022.

We would be looking for care to start at the end of my maternity leave (around the end of June 2022). Hours would be Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30 or 5pm. We do have a dog as well but she is used to being home during our working hours and doesn't require any special care beyond making sure her food and water is full and maybe a walk.

Thanks for taking a look and considering us!

A little bit about us

We are looking for a nanny for our baby girl (6.5 months old). We need care 3 days a week for approximately 6 hours (8:30am-2:30pm). I currently have my schedule set up so I need care Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, however I can shift my schedule in both the days of the week and the hours of the day if I have enough notice. My goal though is to build my work schedule around when my daughter will eventually be in school.

We also have 2 cats, we don’t need care for them but would need someone who isn’t allergic.

I am open to nanny sharing. I am also open to hiring a nanny who also has their own child with them.

What is an Infant Nanny in Tacoma, WA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Tacoma, WA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
