A little bit about us
The position is part-time and live out. Driving and/or car is nice but not mandatory. We can be flexible with the days/times/hours.
Our family situation is dynamic and ever-changing. The boys are smart, active, funny, and engaging. Lots of outdoor activities, art, building things, gardening, monarch rescue, and exploratory play. The oldest has ADHD/autism/anxiety and our past year has been chaotic, especially because he’s having trouble going to school.
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated caregiver who can help us find some new balance. My husband and I may often be home in parallel, while the carer helps with the kids. Alternatively, if the kids need us instead, then light housekeeping, sorting toys, meal prep, laundry, or easy errands would be helpful.
We're seeking someone with a background in Early Childhood Education or experience working with higher-needs kids. We aren’t currently focusing on organized school lessons at home, but some tutoring might be helpful at times.
Also, downtime is critical to keeping things regulated and stable. Screen time is a tool we use and really helps our son regulate. Knowing the early signs that coping is deteriorating and being able to switch gears is key.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a nanny, with a strong preference for qualifications in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Experience with or a strong interest in working with children who have educational and behavioural challenges.
A proactive, nurturing approach to child care, development, and neurodiversity.
Excellent communication skills and a warm, patient demeanor.
We are a non-smoking home.
**** If you are messaging with interest in the position, please provide a few details about why you think you’d be a good fit. Thanks!!
