I am 30 year-old professional career nanny! I live in Quincy and work full time for a wonderful family Monday through Friday 8:30-4:30 in Needham! I have been a nanny for 11 years and I absolutely enjoy it. I have worked with some great families and have watched all ages ranging from newborns to 14 years old. I am CPR, water safety, and first aid certified. I also have been trained with an E pi-Pen. I have experience with multiple children, children with special needs, allergies and delays. I have great references, a reliable car and a safe driving record. I am caring, loving and a true kid at heart. I love coloring, arts and crafts, out door activities, and going for walks to the park. I simply enjoy children and watching them grow! I am available for date nights and overnights!

I have worked with children of all ages. In the past I have worked with special needs children. I have studied Early Childhood Development and Child Psychology in college on the East Coast. I grew up on the East Coast outside of Boston and attended East Coast all girls private schools before entering college. I am CPR/ First Aid certified. In addition I have Lifeguard Training.I drive and posses a clean driving record and background check. I have had over six years of experience and consider myself a career nanny. The bonding experience with children is very unique and special, unlike any other job. In my past job I became a second mom to two gorgeous, very bright mini Barbie Divas, ages three and five. The two girls loved Ballet, the color pink, swimming, learning to read, sparkles and are throughly convinced they are princesses to be reckoned with. We had a lot of Barbie parties and pink was a big color in all our lives. Our bond was very special and unique and there is not anything those two won't be able to accomplish in the future. There is not a lot I wouldn't do for them, as I looked after them as if they were my own children. One of my favorite things to do with the girls was to read to them or do an art project with them. They loved to make books with their own stories, draw, paint and play house. They were always such good little mommies to their babies! Also, I had a lot of fun this summer taking the three year old swimming and teaching her to swim under water. Another special project I did with the girls was throwing our annual Barbie Tea parties. Those were always a blast or just hanging out in Central Park,NYC and sitting under a tree reading a book. Also, we loved to take regular trips to the Central Park Zoo. In addition the girls had many friends and many play dates I would arrange and organize for them. They especially loved playing in the big huge sandboxes at parks in NYC, playing and inventing imaginary scenarios with their friends. We would also cooked together. The girls really loved cooking. Some of the foods we made were homemade chicken nuggets, cupcakes, sweet potato marshmallow pie. I believe because the girls were able to take part in the cooking process, not only did they learn cooking skills, they were also building self esteem and proud to eat their culinary creations. I looked after these two young girls for a year and a half. I was fully in charge as their mom worked full time. I loved them very much and I miss them dearly! They have a lot of natural talent and intelligence. If their talents are harnessed correctly in the years to come, they will go far in life. They are always in my thoughts and prayers and I only wish all the best for them. At the present time (10/2010),I take care of 3 year old twins, full time. I live out, but I am open to both local, live out jobs or re-location, live in. I have past experience with both and I love to travel. I have been with this family for about 2 years and it's a very good situation.

I have been babysitting reguarly since I was in middle school. Even before that, I was designated as the "cousin babysitter" for my large family. I love children and would like to have more of a committed job.

Having worked with many children in different settings, home and at school, I feel the best way to care for a child is to be nuturing and caring but allowing the child the freedom to explore and experience new things. I am organized, firm and require respect however, this can all be achieved with a kind and loving way.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Needham, MA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Needham Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Needham? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Needham?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in MA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
