A little bit about me

I’m Trinity Johnson, my experience was with my brother i had full responsibility from when he was newborn till he turned about 3 years old. I love kids because it amazes me how someone can be an influence in their lives and cause them to do great things. Children bring joy to me because they are always cheering you up or making you feel responsible for someone other than yourself.

A little bit about me

My name is Paola Govea and I want to become a nanny! I wanted to share a little about myself so you can get a better understanding of me prior to speaking in person. I am a married 26 year old fluent in Spanish who recently relocated to Seattle from Los Angeles due to my husband's job. Previously in California I was a co-teacher for high school students who had anywhere from moderate to severe disabilities and kids who were on the Autism spectrum. I enjoy working with kids and getting to know their personalities. Im an observer and learn from my surroundings and by taking action. I am highly interested in education and I can assure you that education is a priority in my book; especially with young "little scientists" who are at the appropriate age where they soak everything in! I attended UC Santa Cruz for my undergrad and took multiple developmental psychology classes where I learned a lot about young kids and how they develop. I have never been a nanny before other than when my brother would drop off my nieces at my house for emergencies or when he needed a night off with his wife. I have a clean driving record and am the owner of a very reliable 2005 Toyota Prius with up to date insurance and paperwork. I am not currently CPR certified, but it is something I am more than willing to do for this position. Lastly, I am very creative! On my free time I do photography, scrapbooking, and DIYs! I am a huge Pinterest fan and can find activities to do with your child during our down time.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Mukilteo, WA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Mukilteo Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Mukilteo? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Mukilteo?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in WA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
