I was adopted when I was 6 years old. I grew up in foster care so I was always around kids. As I got older I looked into jobs helping children. I found multiple caseworker jobs that interested me, so I decided to build a portfolio of experience working with kids. My first Nanning experience was for a single mom who worked at the nearby collage. I worked for her for almost a year before she decided to become a stay at home mom. She had two girls ( 18 months and 3 years old ) who I watched fulltime from 8am-6pm. I made breakfast, lunch, dinner, and three snacks for them everyday. I bathed and changed them. I made bottles and put them down for naps. I took them out to the park, we went swimming when it was nice out, and generally played outside when it was possible. My second Nanning experience was for a navy family. The mom worked as a nurse at the hospital and the father was in the Navy. They had three kids, two girls and a boy ( 6 months old, 2 years old, and 4 years old. ) I watched the kids from 6am-3pm every day for 7 months before the family moved away. I read them stories, we played dress-up, made forts, and made lots of Lego messes. I picked up the 4 years old from a playgroup everyday. We went to the park every day that the weather permitted. I enjoy actually interacting and playing with the kids rather than sitting them in front of the TV all day. My last family I nannied for had older children ( 5 years old, 7 years old, and 12 years old. ) I helped with light meal prep, homework and light housecleaning. I took them to the amusement park during the summer and ice-skating during the winter. I got them ready for and picked them up from school. I have lots of experience with Autistic and delayed children. I grew up with an autistic little brother, father, grandpa, and best friend. So I had a lot of time to learn extra patience, skills, and how to communicate and help them best. I've had the most experience with younger children but have nannied for familie...

Hi! I am a 22 year old female, and my name is Isa :) I was raised as the oldest of 5 and helped take care of my siblings as well as my cousins all throughout my childhood. I will be starting school again in the Spring, but for now, I am taking a break. I am very friendly, patient, organized, and love to make people smile and laugh! I am always looking for the silver lining, and my goal in life is to help brighten the lives of children all over the world!

I have had one-year experience as a nanny. While my husband was in school I was a nanny for a family with 3 girls. We had so much fun baking, sewing, tons of arts and crafts, using our imaginations, and so much more. I taught the youngest how to swim at age 3, how to write her ABC’s, and how to write her numbers up to one hundred. I ran a pretty tight schedule as far getting homework done and out of the way (upon the parents request). I tutored all three of them and watched as they kept learning more and more. Both the family and I are very sad to have to separate, we had way too much fun together. I am the youngest in my family and have tended my nieces and nephews since I was 9 years old. My husband has 12 in his family so I have taken part in running his siblings to and from activities, helping with homework, cooking, art projects, etc. I also was a counselor for many different youth camps, at home and abroad. At the age of 14 I was trusted to be the leader of arts and crafts at a English summer camp in Korea. I was able to communicate effectively with children who barely knew English, and also with the adult leaders. I was the only youth who was aloud to come to the camp that year, and because of my performance, they started letting youth come from all across the world. Among other things I accomplish while babysitting, you could also catch me playing outside, dress up, acting out stories, teaching fun games, reading, and/or art projects. For the younger mind I use flash cards, basic sign language, singing, lots of snuggles, smiles, and one-on-one interaction. I also worked in a Day Care while attending college. There I worked with the infants, it was 4 infants to 1 adult and I exemplified much patience and aptitude while feeding, changing, stimulating their minds, and putting the children down for naps. Through all this I have experienced that all children are different and they need all different kinds of attention and care. But most of all children need to be loved, respected, and appreciated simply because they are Gods little gifts to the world. Not only do I love children, but I am a very hard worker. I hope I can be of use to a good family who will treat me with as much respect as I treat them.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Bremerton, WA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Bremerton Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Bremerton? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Bremerton?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in WA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
