Activities I enjoy doing with children...
- My most favorite past time is going on walks. With my last child I just loved taking him on walks every morning. His mind just amazed me, the things he would point out or focus on would of passed me by without me even noticing. For example he loved commenting on the different shades of grass and guess the names of all the pets we’d pass.
- Because I’m from Hawai’i a trip to the beach was pretty much my favorite part of the week. I know there isn’t a beach in the middle of New York City but there are many parks and zoos to explore non the less.
- I love getting the children involved with meal prep. I’ve found that letting them pick the drink, taste the sauce or even just stand on a chair beside me gets them real excited to eat!
- In my family puzzle and game night was a huge deal and it’s something that has followed me into adulthood. I like to just sit around a table doing puzzles, teaching math, science and other topics while making it fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is making sure your children are comfortable. Back when I was babysitting I met a few children that were just so smart, kind and just amazing but they were older and at a point where they had no idea who they were. It’s a little harder with the older kids that have already been put down, made to feel small and have insecurities because all I want to do is tell them how amazing they are and have the believe me. I cherish the time I spend with children and just try to make them feel special.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The weeks leading up to first day of school was lots of fun. We went school supply shopping, had meetings with his teachers and his school even had a few play dates where the kids came in with parents or in my case the nanny and played games for a few hours.
That morning when I was getting him ready we were both so excited and he could not wait to get there. The second I waved goodbye and turned away, all hell broke loose and he could not stop screaming. My poor boy came back home with me and was much more prepared to see me leave the next day haha.
