A little bit about me

I’ve had the joy of working with children ages 0–5 for over five years. My journey began in preschool classrooms, then led me to teaching toddlers, and now I’m lucky enough to work as a nanny. Over time, I’ve come to deeply value the beauty of building one-on-one connections with children.

My approach is always child-led—I believe each child has their own unique way of learning and experiencing the world, and I do my best to follow their lead. It’s truly a privilege to get to know each child as an individual and to adapt my care in a way that honors who they are and what they need.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Nature is one of my greatest passions, and there’s nothing I love more than sharing that with children. Whether it’s exploring the outdoors together, identifying plants, or simply getting our hands dirty in the garden, I find so much joy in helping kids connect with the natural world. I believe it's so important for children to play outside, run freely, and experience the magic of the earth firsthand. We’re lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I feel incredibly grateful to be able to share that wonder with the young ones I care for. Nurturing a love for nature early on helps children grow curious, grounded, and compassionate—and it’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This work is so much more than just a job to me. When a family invites me into their lives to care for one of their most precious people, I don’t take that trust lightly. It’s a deep honor—and my driving force is to be someone truly worthy of that trust. I pour my heart into showing up fully, offering not just care, but compassion, consistency, and genuine love. Being a safe, supportive, and nurturing presence in a child’s life is not only my responsibility—it’s my calling. And I hold that role with great care and gratitude.

My experience with special needs children...

As an autistic person, I move through the world with a deep understanding of what it means to experience life through a neurodivergent lens. This perspective is always with me, and it deeply informs the way I connect with the children I care for—especially those who are also autistic. In my work, I often find that autistic children and I naturally recognize something in one another. There’s a beautiful sense of mutual understanding that forms, and I truly cherish those moments of being seen and seeing them in return.I believe it's so important for autistic children to know autistic adults—to see that our neurodivergence is not something to “overcome,” but a natural way of being in the world. I began training as an ABA behavior technician. While I eventually realized the clinical path wasn't right for me, the hands-on experience of working closely with autistic children—offering them love, acceptance, and validation—was profoundly meaningful. It’s something I will always carry with me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The little moments are particularly special. The ones that are simple and gentle like when a baby touches your face to get to know who you are. Being out on a walk together and it starts pouring and you get to run and splash in puddles together. Hearing them start to learn your name. Even the hard days are special. You get to go through something with someone and come out the other side together. It’s hard to find a favorite moment because I take so much joy and pride in every part of caring for children. It truly is my vocation and passion.

Hi there, my name is Katherine! I am a certified postpartum doula through CAPPA. I am infant and child cpr trained, as needed to become a certified doula.

I have been a doula for a little over a year, and have absolutely loved it, but don’t love the overnight shifts we have to do, so I am looking to take a break from that for awhile and work during the day time.

Before becoming a doula, I nannied for many years. I have many solid references from nannying and also through my doula work.
I would love to help with your little one!
