More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My relevant childcare experience includes working as a nanny and babysitter, an after-school teacher and group leader, and a Support Specialist/Program Specialist in Theatre & Movement at a summer day camp. I have experience caring for infants through middle school-aged children, including groups of up to six children at a time. I’ve also taught dance, acting, and yoga classes to children from elementary through high school. As a professional actor and performer, I bring creativity, energy, and a love of the arts into my work with kids.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing creative and hands-on activities with children! Some of my favorites are arts and crafts, sensory activities like slime, baking and cooking, dance and movement games, imaginative play, music, acting and storytelling, and outdoor adventures. I love finding activities that let kids explore their creativity while having fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is building trust, not just with the children but with their parents. I want parents to feel confident knowing their children are safe, cared for, and having a great time while they’re away. I also believe in respecting each family’s routines and values while being a dependable and communicative part of their support system. As always, I want the children to feel safe and excited to spend time with me!
My experience with special needs children...
From 5th grade through high school graduation, I peer tutored in special education classrooms, working with children with Autism, Down syndrome, Williams syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy, and other disabilities. I also worked as a Support Specialist at summer camp, where I was specifically a counselor for campers with additional needs. These experiences taught me to be patient, adaptable, attentive, and responsive to each child’s individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was a rainy summer day when we couldn’t go outside, so we turned the day into a creative adventure! We made slime, experimented with blowing bubbles using just our hands and soap, and finished the day by making our own candles with a candle-making kit. It was silly, creative, and so much fun, and I loved seeing how excited the kids were to try new things and use their imaginations!
