I am a reliable, patient, and creative person with approximately 8 years of experience caring for and teaching young children. I’ve spent those years as a long-term nanny for a family of three children, teaching children’s theater classes, and tutoring English as a second language to young non-native speakers. Like any good teacher, I’ve found the best way to create fun productive environment is balancing diligent, organized planning with a spirit of flexibility and curiosity. Finding that balance is different with every child, but that is where my passion lies. My experience with special needs children...

My experience working with special needs children is relatively limited. That being said, I worked as a volunteer caregiver for 5 months with a 20 year old with ASD level 2 autism and have several years experience working with a theater company that focuses on working with adults and children with special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I find one of the most rewarding moments of being a nanny is going back to visit families I no longer work for. There are few things that can beat fondly reminiscing with children about afternoons shared together, games created, stories told, and memories made. Inevitably, these conversations shift toward how we have since grown, the ways in which we have changed one another, and how, as much as we might wish, we cannot turn back time. These moments are rare and are certainly bitter-sweet, but they make me very grateful for getting the chance to do this work.
