I am a recent graduate of Gonzaga University, where I pursued studies in Accounting, Marketing, and Religious Studies. Since 2018, I’ve been working in childcare, and I am currently employed as a teacher at a daycare in Beaverton. My passion for working with children stems from their boundless energy and curiosity and aligns well with my desire to create an understanding and empathetic environment within the world. I am an avid basketball fan, a passionate Lego enthusiast, and a cinema aficionado. I also have a special place in my heart for animals (especially dogs) and love spending time outdoors. This passion expanded through my work in the music industry, both independently and with the world’s largest entertainment company. While my academic background is in business, my passion has always been working with children. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and in programs for children with special needs, serving as a camp counselor, working at daycares, and babysitting. I’ve had the privilege of working with over 1,000 students, ranging from infants to middle schoolers. In 8 years, I’ve developed skills in orchestrating programs and events that promote education, teamwork, collaboration, and empathy. These experiences have helped me build strong connections with children and foster their growth socially, academically, and creatively.

In today’s challenging job market, I’ve chosen to pursue childcare full-time, reflecting my passion for supporting children’s development in a nurturing environment. I take pride in creating engaging experiences that help young minds thrive, and I am committed to providing exceptional care and guidance.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a very energetic person, so sports and physical activity are usually my go-to activities with the children I work with. This helps teach teamwork and sportsmanship while burning off energy in a positive and productive way. I also know a vast array of art projects that are not only fun but also enriching, encouraging children to tap into their creative potential and expression.
In addition, I love to read, write, and share stories with children. I often assist with homework assignments and tutoring when a child is struggling, providing a personalized approach to each individual’s learning style. It’s important to me that children develop problem-solving skills, learning to think critically and come to conclusions on their own. I strive to be a guide through their learning process, discussing various steps and strategies until they feel confident in their abilities, making learning enjoyable and engaging, so it doesn’t feel like a chore but an exciting opportunity for growth.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most crucial part of being a nanny is prioritizing the safety, health, and security of children above all else. However, looking beyond just meeting their basic needs, I believe that effective communication is key to building strong relationships with both parents and children. Children need someone they can trust to listen, understand, and guide them through challenges, while parents need someone they can count on to communicate openly and honestly about their child’s progress.

By being an approachable and trustworthy figure, I’m able to create an environment where both children and parents feel comfortable and supported. A nanny’s role is not just about being a caregiver but also a partner in a child’s development. I see myself as a motivator, role model, and friend to the children I care for, while also maintaining professionalism and transparency with parents to ensure that their needs and expectations are being met.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked closely with children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with severe ADD and ADHD, in both one-on-one and group settings. Having learning differences myself, I understand that children with special needs may require a more tailored approach, which I am committed to providing. I take the time to understand each child’s unique needs, preferences, and challenges, developing strategies that cater to their individual learning and emotional styles. My work with children on the spectrum has given me insight into the importance of patience, clear communication, and consistency in helping them thrive.

Additionally, I have family and friends with Down Syndrome, which further expanded my understanding of different developmental stages and the importance of fostering a supportive environment for children with varying abilities. I am dedicated to creating inclusive and nurturing atmospheres to enable all children to feel valued and understood, regardless of their differences.
