The most important part about being a nanny...
As i was cleaning the kitchen the youngest boy 3 ran in he was crying. I calmly & quickly asked him, "whats wrong baby?" He lifted his shirt & pointed at his side. It looked red & had started to become a bit swollen, as if he'd ran into something. So i quickly got him an ice pack. By that point the other two kids are curious about what was going on while I carried the little boy in to the living room to the couch. I noticed that the other two kids had wandered off. A few minutes later, his big brother came in with blankets & pillows for him & his big sister came in with some artwork he had made & named after himself. With his older brother & sister paying so much attention to him, he was better in no time. A half hour or so later his older sister, who's about five, walks up to me and explained, “Sometimes when he gets hurt we like to tell him that he's a winner, so whatever he was fighting that hurt him lost.. That makes him feel better.” Who ever said that older siblings were mean?

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Portland, OR: Fable S.
I've been working with children for 8 years as a preschool/toddler teacher and nanny. I absolutely love this field of work and have plans to make it a lifelong career! I strongly believe children are inherently deserving of respect and acknowledgement of their full personhood, individuality, and unique support needs. I specialize in anti-bias and trauma-informed care, with years of training and experience in both methodologies. I also have 3+ years of experience working directly with children with disabilities (especially neurodivergence).
