Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in New York, NY: Maggie S.
Hello!
I'm an NYC resident with a masters in education from Teachers College I have been a professional nanny with Adventure Nannies and Teacher Care for the past several years. I have experience as a preschool teacher and art teacher for young children with a Reggio Emilia approach and am First Aid and CPR certified. I've traveled extensively across Europe and spent several weeks in the UK this last summer.
My experience spans a variety of ages and needs. I worked most recently in a fully staffed household with two working parents who needed full-time and overnight care for their two and four-year-old. Traveling with the family, crafting routines, school and play rhythms, and scheduling lovely outings and activities were some of my other tasks. I believe that children thrive in developmentally stimulating environments and I love creating hands-on activities and art explorations for them to interact with.
I sing often and am an excellent cook, especially sneaking wholesome organic ingredients into delectable kid-friendly dishes (I make wonderful carrot apple breakfast "cookies" and no child has been able to resist my kale pesto yet.) I love to engage in reading, yoga, and imaginative play with children and take them to the park to forage for natural elements to observe and wonder at. I'm especially interested in working with a family who is looking for an educational caregiver and not a housekeeper, though I'm happy to pitch in with child-related cleaning and organizing. I am energetic, whimsical, creative, and very gentle and compassionate and would be a good candidate for a household that respected intentionality and mindful living. If you have any other questions please contact me at the number listed above. I so look forward to hearing from you.
Warm Regards,
Maggie Slover
