The most important part about being a nanny...
Fostering trust, first and foremost, a safe and loving environment with opportunities for growth and development. Kids should be excited for our time together and know that they are safe and that I care deeply about them too. And parents should know I will keep their most precious people safe and that I genuinely care about and support them their kids as well. Trust, love, safety, fun, and development are some of the keystones of my mission.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for kids with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, unique chromosomal disorders requiring lots of medical management, type 1 diabetes, severe allergies, children with nasogastric and gastrostomy tubes, and many more!! I am very confident in my ability to care for a wide range of disabilities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Helping one of my kiddos learn to love books and get over her fears of dogs and certain kinds of activities to the point where her family adopted two dogs, she began reading independently for pleasure, and started trying new things without fear of them. This kiddo specifically and I grew very close over the years and her family even attended my nursing school graduation. I also have many fond memories of summer walks and hikes, rainy day art and science experiments, and exploring new places, activities, and hobbies. I also have many fond memories of helping several of my super young kids learn to sit, crawl, walk, and even stand! Celebrating milestones with parents, pre-nap story time and snuggles, walks through the neighborhood, and playing in parks and seeing the wonder of exploring this big world was also so magical. To be a part of these things has been a gift I can’t begin to express my gratitude for.

Babysitter Available in Portland, OR: Gabriela M.
Hi my name is Gaby! I have around 3 years experience in childcare and have worked with many different age groups. I most recently worked at Small Wonders School as a Teacher’s Assistant for a kindergarten class. I also led a summer camp at the same school. As an older sibling, I have always loved being around and caring for kids. Working in childcare, that love only grew. Being able to help them grow, overcome troubles, laugh with them through their childhood is a beautiful experience. Though I had moved on from working in a childcare setting I still find myself coming back to it in some way. I would love an opportunity to begin a Nanny journey and to help your little one(s) grow! I am proficient in Spanish and love animals!! Some of my hobbies are drawing, reading, and journaling! I love being outside and a good picnic!
Babysitter Available in Portland, OR: Claire A.
Hello there! My name is Claire Elizabeth and I have been a childcare provider of many forms for the last 15 years. From being an expert professional babysitter, a preschool educator, and extracurricular instructor, to the education coordinator at Oregon Children’s Theatre, working with young people has always been my passion and strength.
I am returning to family oriented childcare, because I miss the connection of being hands on with kiddos, and being a part of a families life.
My strengths lie in Montessori child led education, arts engagement, organizing and executing social outings, as well as house work such as laundry, dishes, meal prep, and basic cleaning.
I would love to meet you and your family, to see if we are a good fit! References available upon request.
