I’ve helped out in daycare settings and I’ve been helping out with childcare and my community ever since I was a young teenager. I’m actually going to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil this May to do volunteer work and I’m super excited for that.

I love doing anything the kids will love! I’m pretty athletic, so I love to be outside when the weather is nice when the kids would like to do something. I also love doing arts and crafts activities with kids, usually the kids are more creative than me!

Not only being a friend to the child you’re watching, but a friend of the parents as well. As nannies, it’s our job to watch over the child in the meantime and provide everything. The parent usually does. It’s also an excellent opportunity for children to be able to develop their social and motor development skills with other people

The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was probably when I was taking a walk with these two girls I was with, and the parents instructed me to bring the dog as well. Little I knew, the dog would just respond to word and was not walked on a leash, so he just booked it! The five-year-old girl I was watching ended up knowing how to get him back, and she was running all over the place and tackled him! We all had a good laugh about it after and it was a pretty common scenario with the family that this happened.
