I’m a nanny because Of all of my previous jobs childcare has by far been my favorite. Its not always easy or neat but it is always interesting and always appreciated. I feel that babysitters have the unique opportunity to be an important positive non-family role model to help kids discover and develop their own talents and interests and to come into their own. I am coming out of a 2 year full-time nanny position with a 2 child family I met through Nannies4Hire. I am interested in picking up a steady part-time position while I take some time off to work on a few creative projects.

My past childcare experience I've considered myself a meticulous and devout nanny since the day my sister was born when I was 5 years old. Influenced by perhaps an overload of "Babysitter's Club" books, I babysat practically every kid within a 10 mile radius of my hometown. In college, I worked in the nursery of two different churches and continued to be a regular babysitter for several families. I have spent two summers as a drama camp counselor, taught a kid's improv class, and somehow I always end up being the kid's events cordinator at family gatherings!

Additional comments My sister and I grew up in northwest Georgia in the middle of my father's close-knit and huge family. I loved playing sports, learning crafts, and making up stories with my rambunctious cousins. I think being the eldest child instilled in me a sense of nurturing and responsibility (and perhaps a little bossiness) that have always made caring for other children a second nature. Now I live in Astoria, Queens. I love New York. I have a degree in Musical Theatre and acting and singing remain my favorite hobbies. I love to travel. After college I backpacked around Europe (by myself!) for 100 days and had the time of my life meeting people from around the world and sightseeing. I also love to cook, fumble with my guitar, play soccer... and I'm always up for a very competitive game of Ms. Pacman.
