Mar. 02 Oct. 03 NYC Group Leader (children 5 to 11 yrs) I ran an after-school classroom for 27 children from kindergarten to 6th grade. I planed all activities (finding entertaining crafts, games and sports to develop children of various ages). I planed all field trips and helped my students finish their homework everyday. (The after-school program was later closed for budgetary reasons.) Summer of 02 Washington, DC Live-In Nanny (girl newborn) I worked in Washington D.C. as a baby nurse. I provided fulltime care as her mother recovered from a rough delivery until she was able to care for the baby herself. Oct. 03 - Dec. 04 NYC Live-In Nanny (girl 12, boy 9, girl 2 yrs) Both of the parents of this home worked full-time. I would drive the older children to school in the morning and have the 2 year old all day, while I ran the family's errands, including dry cleaning, grocery-shopping, and personal assistant duties in support of the real estate business, which would require extensive publicity and clerical work. I did all of the house-cleaning and cooked all meals. (They provided cooking classes.) I started coaching the oldest daughterÃs cheerleading team, and so was extremely involved with this family. The mother became pregnant again during my final year with them and decided that she wanted to stay home and run her household. They moved to Manhattan and no longer needed a nanny. Jan. 05 Apr. 05 Michigan Daycare Worker (12 children under 5 yrs) I worked in this small in-home Christian daycare center for three months while I was helping my mother sell her home in MI. Although I was only with them for a short period, this was the most challenging job I have ever had. The 12 children included eight under 2 years of age, and most of the time I had them to myself. Apr. 05 - Jun. 07- NYC Live-Out Nanny (One girl age 5) I worked for a single mom in Chelsea (NY) who worked full time and had one daughter of 5 yrs. Tessa who not in school when I first started working with her so I would come to her home when her mother went to work and stay with her throughout the day. Tessa and I spent much time doing planned activities outside the home. We were often at the park or the community pool. I did all of the house-keeping and laundry, and cooked all of her meals. I also spent two nights a week at home with her in her, after giving her a bath and putting her to bed. Jun. 07 Sep.07 South Beach, FL Live-In Nanny (twin boys 4 yrs) This family lived in Miami FL. They had two beautiful boys. My duties included making breakfast, packing lunches and preparing the children for camp. I would pick them up from camp and bring them home for lunch. We would do crafts and I would often give them swimming lessons during the afternoons. I prepared dinner for the family and cleaned up during the evenings. I did all of the laundry, cleaned their playroom and their bedrooms. The couple was going through a messy divorce that I frequently found myself in the middle of, so I only stayed with them for three short months. Nov. 07- Feb. 08 NYC Live-In Nanny (girls 14 and 17, boy 12 yrs) I worked on the Upper East Side for a single mother of three. The two girls were in high school and the boy was 12. Although the children were older, they had serious discipline issues, and my true success was to be able to keep them in-line, even watching them get on the bus to school every morning (despite their age) and remaining in constant contact with their teachers, monitoring homework assignments etc. This position was short-term, while the mother was in and out of hospital. Feb. 08 Nov. 08 NYC Live-Out Nanny (girl 4 yrs, boy 20 mths) This position was a change of pace, working as an at-home special-needs professional. I worked full-time with two autistic children, a 20 month old boy and a four year old girl. I came to work at 7:15AM and handled them from the moment they woke up until I put them down at night. I effectively managed a team of 11 professionals who were also working with the children from at school, OTs, ABAs, and speech and physical therapists. I cooked three meals a day for both children based on a special grain-free diet. I took classes, sat in on visits to doctors and participated in each therapist’s sessions. I have extensive knowledge of ABA activities and am extremely competent in a special needs home. I left this position when I moved to Canada. I am currently working for a wonderful family with three children. boy 6, boy 5, girl 2. I start at 7:30 and am full caregiver (three meals, school prep, laundry) all day until 5-7pm.

Hello, my name is Mariama,I am a 27 years old native french nanny, let me tell you more about me: I have been working with 3 wonderfull families in westchester since I came in the u.s(about 3 years ago). I came here as an aupair, and I had been so lucky to meet my host family.I work for a single mother who is a really busy lawyer with 2 children David(9) and Lily(12). My job here is way more than a simple nanny.I am really helping her to raise the kids the best way we can.I am helping her to get things organized in the house,(make appointments for any workers we need around the house, like the cable company, the people who make the backyard so beautifull...)I do the shopping,I cook,I even sew sometimes. But mainly,I am here for the kids I work with them, listen to them when they need to talk,of course we play like crazy,I just love them, and I know they love me too. The kids go to a school wich is about 20 minutes north from where we live, I drive them and pick them up every day,I am an exellent driver and a very good swimmer... I also work part time for a second family with a lovely teenager Margaret(16),her parents go away about 2 weekend a month,so I stay with her when they are not around. We are having so much fun together,we go shopping,we listen to music,I try to help her out with her french, but to be honest she is really good and does not really need me... I am more like a big sister to her,and since she is a only chid,I know she really appreciate to have me around. Alice is the 13 years old child I am "baby sitting" in the third family. I was actually her aupair for one year when I came to the u s,and lately I was taking care of her for 3 weeks since her parents were in new zeland. I am very organized and responsible, that's one of he reason why they trust me enought to leave me alone with their child for such a long time. Being from europe,I also love to travel and is always happy to go on trips with the family I work for,Alice and I event went to Disneyland for a week just the two of us,it was just SO MUCH FUN!we'll never forget! I am easy going and I can adapt to a lots of differents environements. I am college educated(I went to the university of "La Sorbonne Nouvelle"in Paris, and I have a teaching degree),I am very well manered. During my time of(when the children I take care of are in school and on weekend),I take care of younger children either in westchester or in manhattan. Anyway,as much as I love my jobs,it is time for me to move on. After 3 year in live in position(I started as an aupair, even if I always have been more than that),my current family is about to move, and I believe it is the good time for a change in my life, that is why I am looking for another live in position starting as soon as I will find a great family. My ideal position would be to work in manhattan. I have a lots of experience with kids( I have been babysitting since I am 12)and I can say that I am pretty amazing when it comes to hold a house. Being the big sister of 2, Sarah(5 years old) and Eric (2 years old),I also have a lots of experience with young children, todlers, and if you want I can even provide you references from france. If you like what you are reading,I am sure you would love to have me working for you. I can provide you all the references that you'll need, and I am sure that my host family will be pleased to talk to you about me(even if the kids are pretty unhappy to know that I am leaving soon). For any question,if you want to know more about me,feel free to email me at ,I'll be happy to tell you everything you need! I am looking forward to hear from you. Regards. Mariama

I moved to New York City 6 years ago with dreams of being on Broadway. I had to put myself through college so I needed a way to be able to do so. Due to my creative nature and genuine love of children, I decided to persue becoming a nanny. I started off with the intent of the job just being a way for me to pay my bills but overtime, it became very clear that it was way more than a job for me. I began my experience worknig for a wonderful family on the Upper East Side. They had two beautiful children, Sarah and Ben. I mostly worked evenings for them in addition to some weekends. Our favorite thing to do together was cook and color and on special occasion, watch a disney movie. Sarah and Ben eventually moved away and my journey as a Nanny continued and before I knew it, two years had gone by at one point was working with three families at a time. At the end of those two years, I was working as a full-time night time Nanny for an amazing 8 year old girl named, Olivia. She was incredible. Wise beyond her years, we bonded rather quickly and she became more like another sister. She too was also a creative type so you could always find us going on some sort of adventure, performing some sort of show that we conjurned up or singing at the top of our lungs to some musical theater related CD. The time then came where Olivia moved to San Francisco. I was heartbroken but knew that everything happens for a reson. It was at that same time where I was offered my current part time job. Although I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE what I do. Being a Nanny will forever be a special part of my life and heart.

I have several experiences with childcare, which began when I was 13-years-old after I completed a babysitting course. I have babysat for children of varying ages from infant to about 11-years-old, and for families with multiple children. One of my earliest experiences caring for children was for a family with a 4-year-old daughter and an infant son. I would babysit for them in the afternoons into late evenings while the parents were either working or busy with other obligations. I was responsible for feeding the children, getting them ready for bed and tucking them in, and of course playing with them. Another childcare experience I had was when I was in high school and into college for a family of three boys, ages ranging from 3-years-old to 10-years-old. The youngest boy and the middle boy both had autism spectrum disorders with learning and behavioral issues, and the oldest boy had a learning disability. All three boys were tutored weekly during school and throughout the summer. I was responsible for transporting them to and from school, preparing lunch and sometimes dinner, keeping them active through the day during summer, and sometimes helping during their tutoring sessions. My experience as a nanny ended recently only because I graduated from college and moved away. I was with this family for six years. I began when the oldest was just two-weeks-old. She is now 6-years-old, and the younger child, a boy, is almost 5-years-old. I have cared for them since they were just infants, and I have loved being such a big part of their daily lives. My job as a nanny for this family included all aspects of childcare (transporting to and from school, play dates, lessons, and other activities, preparing meals and feeding them, bathing, getting them ready and put to bed, playing with them, and helping with homework, among other things). I also helped maintain the household by doing laundry, dishes, running errands, grocery shopping, occasionally cleaning the pool, light cleaning, etc. In all my childcare experiences I have enjoyed doing activities with the children like going to the museum, the library, the park, going swimming, for walks, and bike rides, reading and making crafts.
