Hello! My name is Sage and I’m looking for part-time work as a nanny. I'm a student going back to school for Anthropology and Environmental Science, and I'd love to fill my free time working with families. In the last few years, I've had the opportunity to nanny for two different families, and I'm ready to jump back in! I’m an artist myself, and I’d love to include a creative education while working with children. I also have several years of experience working at a summer camp as a counselor, and I always have lots of ideas for creative enrichment activities. I have extensive experience as a summer camp counselor as well as babysitter for various families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love getting kids up and active by playing outdoors, engaging in sports, and encouraging creative play. I also make art myself and I love to share my artistic abilities with the kids and encourage them to create as well!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Personally, I think the most important part of being a nanny is working as a team with the parent or parents to best create a well rounded care routine for the child. I want every child I work with to feel that I am there to encourage, guide, and play alongside them. I'm never afraid to run around on a playground with the kids I work with!

My experience with special needs children...

I worked at a summer camp for special needs children several years ago, and I still think about the special connections I formed with many of the kids today! I also worked as a regular babysitter for a family who had three children, one of whom had autism and was nonverbal. It was such a beautiful experience to form a bond with him and learn to communicate with him without using language. We eventually became very close, and I was always really touched that he grew to feel so comfortable and affectionate with me.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I worked as a nanny with a 9 year old girl who loved dragons, and owned a full dragon Halloween costume. She invented a game where I was the princess (decked out in plastic jewels, of course) and she was the dragon queen. We had a lot of fun and it was a great way to encourage her to work on chores or schoolwork. Everyday tasks are certainly more exciting as a dragon!
