A little bit about us

I need a full time or possibly a live in Nanny. I have 4 boys, they are a bit rowdy but with the right nanny I believe they will be fine. I work a full time job and I am also going through a divorce. As time passes we can talk about higher pay.

The main things I need to have is someone who is reliable and responsible. Someone who will show up on time. Someone to pick up the kids from school.

A little bit about us

I'm looking for summer care for my children and possibly ongoing for after school care once school resumes if transportation is available - the school will bus them if it's more than 2 miles from Liberty. Transportation is not necessary for the summer. Cost is not an issue. I have a 6 year old boy and a 7 year old girl. Everywhere we've called is all filled up. We need care outside of our home, as I work from home. We are open to nanny sharing with another family. Can anyone provide some, most, or all of this list?
1. Keep them as busy as possible all summer. Field trips and fun stuff.
2. Provide breakfast and lunch and snacks.
3. 9am - 5pm option (potentially flexible)
4. Review school work from this year so they don't fall behind.
5. Experience with sneaky, clever little ones.
6. Proper training or first hand experience with choking, my son has choked and required serious heimlich at least 5 times, so this is a must. Can't panic.
7. In person CPR/first aid training.
8. Lots of outdoor time and things to do outside to keep them active.
9. Any legally required certifications/licenses.

They have specifically requested: arts and crafts, music, library, science experiments, pool, and trampoline with sprinklers.

They are very strong swimmers and basically live in our pool at home. They've been swimming on their own since they were toddlers. They have their own annual passes to Busch gardens and adventure Island, it would be a nice bonus for them if whoever is taking care of them also has a pass and can take them.

I ordinarily do all of these things with them, but now I work, so as close to their normal out of school lifestyle as possible would be nice. I do realize it's a lot, even more if you're also caring for other children. This is a wish list.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Port Charlotte. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions , it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

How to Interview for a Nanny Job in Port Charlotte, FL

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here is a list of some nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What do you think children like best about you?
  • What kind of activities will you do with children this age?
  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?

Beyond answering questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
