A little bit about us

My son is 4 months old. I go back to work end of august. I do not know yet what days I will be working. Some weeks it’s 3 days and other weeks it’s 2 days. Hours would be 8/9am-4/5pm. My husband works from home in his office and we would like care to be provided in home for our son but are open to in home daycares. I will make bottles ahead and we won’t need any cooking, cleaning, or driving around. Just spending time with our son, feedings every 1-3 hours or so, play time, and nap time. When he naps you can watch TV or bring your laptop and use the WiFi. We do have 2 cats that are very friendly. Let me know if you have any questions.
We are also looking for date night/day sitters. :)

A little bit about us

Hello! We're looking for a nanny willing to take on a full-time nanny share.
I have a 9 month old son who's only now starting to get his teeth, and hasn't quite learned how to crawl. He naps twice a day and eats purees every 3 hours. My son is very even-tempered, rarely fusses unless he's tired, and likes to play with sitting-up toys.
My co-worker has a toddler boy that's almost 18 months, likes to walk around and is very shy around people. He's a sleep-fighter that only naps once a day, but eats solid foods 3 times a day and a bottle of whole milk in between. Both boys have no allergies or known medical conditions.
The nanny we hire will be expected to work 40 hours a week Mon-Fri, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM to match our work hours. We will be alternating houses throughout the week, with one of us dropping off their kid at the other's house.
The focus just has to be the two boys--we don't have any expectations for housework or pet care. My co-worker has cats, and I have a dog and cat, so please be mindful if you have allergies.
We also both work remotely, so while we can be available in case of an emergency, we will be focusing on our jobs outside the occasional check-in (so don't worry about us breathing down your neck!).
Both my co-worker and I are willing to each pay up to $20 an hour, for a total rate of $40 per hour. We will need this position to start by end of August. If you're interested in taking this job opportunity, please reach out to me via phone call or text (ask for Jan). Thank you!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Syracuse, NY

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Syracuse, NY

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Syracuse, NY? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
