A little bit about us

We're looking for part-time and possibly full time nanny to care for our beautiful son, Rex. Rex is currently 3 months old and loves laughing, cuddling, and listening to you sing. We have a sweet 2.5 year old Boykin Spaniel who is around 28 lbs so we need someone ok with dogs. We're hoping to find someone that can ideally work MWF 9-5pm, or M-F 12-5PM but we are flexible here. Our start date is somewhat flexible, with a hard start date of August 1.

Nanny must have a valid driver's license and transportation to and from our house. We live in Oak Hill/Legend Oaks in 78749 right off the Y.

Duties would include feeding, burping, play/activities (we have an outline but would love for you to bring your own flair and style to playtime :)), and bottle cleaning/light baby laundry as needed throughout the day. Please note that as Rex continues to grow his needs may change and the day to day duties may fluctuate accordingly.

A little bit about us

Nanny Needed for 1 infant! We are looking for someone who can be available 3 or 4 days a week on a consistent basis. I work in retail so I am gone a lot but my partnet is on a hybrid work schedule so he is able to be more flexible with his hours. Most likely we would be looking for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday daytime with the occasional weekend day or fourth weekday as needed. Also we have a big fluffy dog named Rose who mostly keeps to herself. She is very sweet and only barks at delivery people. Bode is 3 months old. He is a very calm baby and really only cries when he is hungry or has a wet diaper. We are hoping to have someone start the second week of August but we could potentially start a bit sooner on a trial basis if needed.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Austin, TX

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Austin, TX

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Austin, TX? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
