A little bit about us

My husband and I are looking for a full-time live in nanny for our child that will be born February 2020. Weekends will be very light if not completely off. My husband works full time and I am a full time medical student. We need someone with infant experience but preferably who’d like to stay on for a few years as our child grows into toddlerhood. We’d like someone active, engaged, willing to play and teach at all stages. We additionally would really appreciate some help around the house, light cleaning as well as laundry and food prep- particularly for the child. We’re a young, first time parent couple looking for someone to be a partner in our child’s care for the near future.

A little bit about us

We need a a live-in-nanny for our three year old daughter, Charlotte. We work out of town and come home for Sundays, Holidays, and important events, but we are pretty busy so she would be in your care most of the time. She is Deaf so knowing ASL would be great, but if you do not then ASL classes would be mandatory (but paid for). She is also autistic, no experience required but you must be patient and kind. Charlotte loves to play and so you just be energetic and ready for a full day of activities. You would work monday-saturday, 8-9. Days off and emergencies are expected so we just need at least a weeks notice(if it's an emergency then we understand if it is last minute). We go on a few vacations a year so it would be nice if you could come, but it is not required. Some perks are you would have your own room, private bathroom, access to our in-home cook, a gym membership, and access to a car that we would like you to use to transport Charlotte (gas would be paid for). Responsibilities would be taking Charlotte to sports, the park, her doctors appointments, and any other activities she may have. You MUST be First Aid and CPR certified and have a valid license with a clean driving history. Background checks will be mandatory and random drug tests. We have a German Shepherd service dog and 2 cats so you must be comfortable with animals. Also we have no room for hate in our home so no homophobia, racism, xenophobia, transphobia, etc..Serious inquiries only! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!

A little bit about us

Our family is seeking a dedicated and caring nanny for our two lovely young girls, one of which has ADHD. The ladies, aged six and seven, have busy schedules that require you to be sufficient in multi-tasking and organization, and it is a major perk if you can drive (car will be provided). We would like to find a well-educated and athletic female who is passionate about manners, grammar, and rules to join our busy family -- as we strive to raise confident, independent, and fearless girls. Responsibilities include the girls' laundry, light cleaning, task-management, organization, short-distance driving (if possible), cooking, bathing, outdoor activities (weather permitting), and loving two wonderful little women.

Room and board are included and required for at least three days a week, although preference is given to applicants available to live in five days a week. It is also highly preferred that you are available for the summer to live in our South Hampton home to swim, run, and play with the girls; although it is not required that you join us for this journey.

Those who are proper cooks (our girls have advanced palates) will be given preference and those who fulfill the majority of our needs will be rewarded accordingly. We look forward to meeting you!

A little bit about us

We are seeking someone with positive energy, creativity, patience and a "seize the day" attitude to join our family with two toddlers (and two cats!). This role is a hybrid nanny and parent-helper role. Working approx. 45 hours each week, you'll help care for our boy (16 mos.) and girl (2. 5 years) and pitch in with everything that comes with running the house, for example: laundry, tidying, grabbing milk at the store when we're running out (or putting in the next diaper order), finding craft projects, setting up a playdate with a local friend, making healthy muffins, packing for a trip, etc. Mom works part-time and wants to spend time with the kids when she's able to! You'll have room, board, car, paid vacation, and opportunity to travel with us. We plan to be between NYC and our home in Upstate NY this fall so you'll spend time with us in both locations.

How to Find Live-In Nanny Jobs in New York, NY

Are you a nanny looking for a live-in nanny job? Nanny Lane is a nanny website to help you find a live-in nanny job in your area. You create your profile and connect with families that meet your needs. Then, as you meet with families you can discuss and finalize details around cost and responsibilities.

What is a Live-In Nanny in New York, NY

A live-in nanny provides in-home child care and resides with the family that they care for. They are usually full-time and sometimes support with housekeeping, errands and other household responsibilities. Some live-in nannies stay with their employer’s full-time or they live with their employer’s for a portion of the week and spend the other portion at their home. A live-in nanny schedule can include nights as needed like any other nanny job, however, the employer should always offer compensation for any additional coverage.

Types of Live-In Nanny Jobs and Nanny Responsibilities in New York, NY

Before you start looking for a live-in nanny job, it's essential to make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities by learning about the different types of nanny jobs and how they compare to each other.

Most nanny jobs vary in responsibilities and time commitment (e.g. the number of hours worked each week or the length of the commitment). There are temporary live-in nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer live-in nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary live-in nanny positions, there are differences between full-time live-in and part-time live-in nanny jobs. Given that live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want, it's very important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

How to Interview for Live-In Nanny Jobs in New York, NY

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a live-in nanny job interview. Here is a list of some live-in nanny interview questions you should ask:

  • Can you tell me about where in the house I will live? Will I have my own bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc? Do I have my own entrance?
  • What are your expectations around the cleanliness and tidiness of my living quarters?
  • What level of privacy can I expect after hours?
  • Will I have a curfew in the evenings when I am in charge of the kids the next day?
  • Can I have guests over during my days off and only with the employers prior agreement? Am I allowed guests overnight?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
