A little bit about us

Welcome to the opportunity of a lifetime. We are a kind, pretty strict, private, straightforward family in need of some part-time childcare in exchange for housing and pay. This is a live-in position only because your pay will be impacted by the housing exchange. You will receive a reasonable, predetermined amount of cash. You will have a free room in a walkout basement with paid utilities and internet. You will work about 15 hours per week. You are encouraged to work an outside job. The children will need you to do some teaching, reading, singing, pre-planned activities with them. Some date nights. Occasional last-minute request, but you would be welcome to decline. You will not interact with the family outside of work. You will not have household duties, in fact, you will not see our house except for your room and the basement area in which you provide care. You will not be part of the family or any of that kind of setup. The hours would be mostly during the day mid to late mornings and/or afternoons. Again, this could be flexible depending on your job. But we will lay all of that out depending on the seasons and family needs. We would not appreciate a sudden change in availability. Again, we don’t have a lot to pay, but this is free room, utilities, and internet. In this area, for a private bathroom, that could easily run you $1300+ So let’s work together! You have your privacy, follow some pretty strict rules when dealing with us, but pursue your dreams and everything else along the way. If you’re a student who can’t exactly take on room and board, we can work with you. If you’re a grownup with a kid or two and are okay living in one room, we can consider that. We’re open to mutual benefit. Out location is not safely walkable in my opinion. You would want a car eventually. Uber is pretty expensive from here. The kids are well-behaved. The 12-year-olds are pretty helpful and self-sufficient, but it’s nice for them to be around and have attention.

A little bit about us

My kids are 2, 3 and 7. My oldest is only with us every other week from Thursday to Thursday. I’m looking for two things. We need a full time nanny for the summer that would transition to part time during the school year. During the summer, we would need someone to come over at 5:30 so my husband and I can leave for work at 6. The children generally do not get up before 7. We are open to setting up activities or letting you have free range on their scheduling during the summer. For next school year to help facilitate drop offs and pick ups for our three kids. We would need someone that could take the kids to school (all three) and pick up the youngest from his half day program. We would need someone to pick up our daughter from the bus stop after school. My oldest would be picked up from school by my husband. I am open to sharing a nanny since we do not need someone full time during the school year.
