A little bit about me
My name is Jess, and I am passionate about working with children. I have over 13 years of experience caring for children in a variety of settings, and I’m also a proud mother of two—a 6-month-old and a 7-year-old.
I am certified in First Aid and CPR, hold a valid Food Handler's Card, and have completed numerous child care training courses. I am happy to provide excellent references upon request.
This summer, I’m looking to welcome one or two children into our home for a fun, safe, and engaging experience alongside my own kids. If you're looking for a nurturing environment for your child during the summer months, I would love to connect and see if we’re a good fit for your family’s needs. (Can also extend past summer!)
Please feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to answer any questions!

A little bit about me
My name is Meagan!
I have lived in Central Oregon since 2005. My Dad + I moved from Beaverton Portland area around that time frame.
We've loved living here!
I have experience working mostly with children's age ranges from infants up to elementary school.
I have worked within two different Montessori Preschools.
I've babysit + had nanny positions for several families over the years starting in 2008 + on. I believe I prefer to work with children two years old + up.
Along with nannying, I am an aspiring Photographer within the Central Oregon area + beyond.
I could be your Nanny + Family Portrait Photographer if in need.
If we feel that it is a good fit on both ends, I am willing to keep an open mind about the possibility of a live-in nanny position.
Also, I work really well with pets. So if your family has a fur baby, I am happy to care for them when needed along with your children.
I would love an opportunity to work with you + your family!
Warmly,
Meagan

A little bit about me
I'm comfortable supporting baby-led weaning, milestone development through play, and child-related household tasks. I love incorporating curiosity-driven learning, outdoor exploration, and creativity into each day. Whether it's sensory play, nature walks, or reading together, I aim to make each moment meaningful. I'm also comfortable around well-behaved pets and enjoy including them in the daily rhythm when appropriate.
Outside of caregiving, I love paddle boarding, camping, crafting, and exploring all that Bend has to offer.
If you're looking for a nurturing, experienced caregiver who blends knowledge with fun and intention, I'd love to chat and see if I'd be a good fit for your family.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Bend, OR
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Bend Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Bend? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Bend?
- Do you have a driver’s license in OR? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
