A little bit about us
Our youngest girl has an Autism spectrum disorder diagnosis, and as a result we are interested in finding a nanny that has a background working with neurodivergent children. Currently she receives ABA, early intervention as well as OT and Speech therapy, and she is doing very well! This is a very sweet and easy natured little girl who is benefiting tremendously from the support she has currently in place. As my job takes our family to Vinalhaven for the summer, we are most interested in ensuring continuity with her interventions.
To that end we ideally need to find someone that understands the importance to developing her skills, and is familiar with working with younger neurodivergent children. As noted above, this is a very sweet child that does not possess any of the behavioral challenges often associated with an ASD diagnosis; she is happy and sweet, can focus on different activities, sleeps with no issues, naps with no issues, loves cuddles and has a ready smile.
This is a live in position for the summer, ending around Labor Day give or take. The living situation is quite nice, we live in a house that is part of my employer’s property that is on the water with a beautiful view, and there is a pool to enjoy as well. Our oldest daughter is very outgoing and very funny. We have two really sweet dogs as well. This is a relaxed atmosphere, and the only expectation we have for a nanny is to provide the care described above. We will not ask you to clean or do anything beyond take care of our youngest child, with the occasional babysitting of both kids if we need to be out to dinner somewhere. Beyond that you would be working from about 9 or 10 in the morning to about 5 every day. Please get in touch if this seems like something you’re interested in. We look forward to hearing from you!

(We are also looking for someone interested in babysitting on some weekends and evenings when things come up - it would be nice to build up our village a bit more!)
We have an almost 4-year-old and an 8-month-old. You would be with both as our 4-year-old gets out of school at 11:15 a.m. They are pretty typical for their ages.
The 8-month-old is crawling and standing every chance he gets so it's really important we keep an eye on what he's getting into!
For the regular sitter position: In addition to those days, if you happen to have more availability the other days, in the mornings, or wish to stay later than 3 p.m. there will definitely be weeks we need extra support given our work schedules.
