More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have taught kindergarten, third, high school and middle school special education classes.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I do a lot of RIE and Montessori style play but my favorite thing is diving deep into the child’s interests from Dino’s to trucks to outdoors. The child leads the play and I support the parameters.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Ensuring children are supported in a way that is developmentally appropriate and feel loved and supported as an extension of what the parents are doing.
My experience with special needs children...
I am a certified special education teacher working with autism, Down syndrome and a host of other medically fragile kiddos.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Prior to Covid I got a job working in a nanny share with two children they were 2 when I started about four when I departed. I was used to them falling asleep on me during reading prior to nap when they were little but once the boy turned four he just went to bed after the book. This time though I had finished the book and he ended up falling asleep in my arms. It was so sweet and I just remember it felt like he trusted me to keep him safe. That was such a sweet memory. To this day that shy little one now in kinder gives me little hugs. Such a sweet time!

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Portland, OR: Jordyn T.
I’m Jordyn — a calm, intuitive, and deeply nurturing caregiver who shows up with patience, structure, and genuine warmth. I’ve worked in caregiving, DSP support, housekeeping, and childcare, so I’m comfortable balancing emotional needs, daily routines, and household flow all at once. Babysitter Available in Portland, OR: Alexandra M.
Hiii, I'm Alex! I'm originally from Austin, Texas but just moved to the Sellwood/Westmoreland neighborhood of Portland from NYC, where I was attending Sarah Lawrence. I'm taking this next year off to reassess my goals and find my true path. I come from a loving family with the sweetest parents, who showed me the importance of kindness and compassion, as well as the importance of being there for others. I'm eager to bring those qualities into my work and provide a safe, caring, supportive environment. I'm just beginning my career in childcare, but I'm excited to learn and grow through the process. Feel free to reach out with any questions! :)

Hey there, I'm Emmalyn, a loving, experienced nanny of kids all ages, specializing in newborn and infant care. I love working with children while also being a reliable, dynamic resource. I'm always following your baby's rhythms, and learning their cues. Activities include those that build strength and contribute to their over all development. Typical days include storytime, tummy time, outings to a park/playground, independent play time, baby babble, and occasional age appropriate art projects.
Ultimately I strive to bring harmony into your home by emphasizing whole family well-being, which includes meal prep, light housework, animal care, gardening, etc. I've supported homeschoolers, work from home parents, and families who set my schedule months in advance. I have immediate part time availability (10-15 hours per week) and full time availability mid-July. At that time, I'd ideally love to be hired by one family full time (or near full time), or two families (both part-time).
